Beverley and Holderness MP, Graham Stuart, today published details of his parliamentary expenses on his website.
Graham has published his expense claims for the past four years. These cover the Communications Allowance, Additional Costs Allowance and Incidental Expenses Provision. The claims have been redacted, only so as to protect sensitive information like bank account numbers, addresses and telephone numbers.
He said: “I have today published my expense claims since I became an MP in 2005. I hope my constituents will agree that I offer good value for money but that is for them to judge.
“I try to offer the best possible service to my constituency which is why I make full use of my office and staffing allowances but if anyone has any questions or queries about individual claims they are more than welcome to email me or contact my office and I will do my best to answer them.”
All MPs are allowed to claim allowances for costs which they may incur during the course of their Parliamentary duties.
These allowances were, until recent changes to the system were brought in, paid from one of several budgets.
The Additional Costs Allowance (ACA) reimburses Members of Parliament for expenses wholly, exclusively and necessarily incurred when staying overnight away from their main UK residence (referred to below as their main home) for the purpose of performing Parliamentary duties. This excludes expenses that have been incurred for purely personal or political purposes.
The Incidental Expenses Provision (IEP) is available to meet costs incurred on Members’ Parliamentary duties. It cannot be used to meet personal costs, or the costs of party political activities or campaigning.
Communications Allowance (CA) Communications Expenditure is designed to help Members communicate proactively with their constituents about their work in furtherance of their Parliamentary duties.
Below are Graham Stuart’s allowance claims. These files are prepared by the Fees Office which also blanks out personal details.
