MP Graham Stuart today said he was very sorry to hear East Yorkshire had not been named as a World Cup venue.
Hull was told today its application to be a host city for England’s 2018 World Cup bid had been unsuccessful. It lost out to Sunderland, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle-Gateshead, Bristol, Plymouth, Liverpool and Milton Keynes.Graham said: “Some of these cities do not even have the Premier League facilities offered in Hull. It would have been great for the whole of East Yorkshire if the KC Stadium had been picked as a possible World Cup venue – great for the stadium and the wider area.”
