AS wintry conditions continued to grip the Beverley and Holderness constituency, MP Graham Stuart said neighbours and families should remain vigilant of those who are elderly and vulnerable.
Graham said: “We often make a special effort to call on the elderly over the Christmas and New Year period. Now that many people are back at work that level of care should not stop – especially in the current weather conditions which some people may be finding very difficult to cope with.
“It takes only a few momennts to check if people are safe, warm and have essential supplies.”
His comments came after Age Concern revealed last year’s cold snap saw mortality rates soar to a 10-year high.
