New town councillor congratulated

Cllr Dominic PeacockMP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, today congratulated the latest member of the Beverley Town Council.

Cllr Dominic Peacock will represent the Minster South Ward after a by-election was held on Thursday, February 4.

Graham said: “I am delighted Dominic has taken this ward. He was a fine candidate and he will be a hard working member of the town council – the residents of the Minster South Ward are very lucky.”

Dominic’s election now means there are four Conservative members of the town council.

The results for the by-election, called after another councillor moved out of the area, were:

Dack           (Green)      182

Foot            (Lib Dem) 165

McGrath    (Labour)   149

Peacock     (Con)          322

The turnout was 17.5 per cent.
