MP seeks best local businesses for royal recognition

Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, is calling on local companies to put themselves forward for the highest level of recognition for British business, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

The prestigious awards are given by Her Majesty The Queen in three categories: Innovation, International Trade, and Sustainable Development.

Entry is open to all UK based companies employing a minimum of two people full time. Winning an award means that businesses are judged to be outstanding in their field and allows them to benefit from excellent press and publicity opportunities, improved staff morale, increased sales and global recognition.

Winners will be invited to attend a reception with Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace, where they will be presented with their award. Companies are then able to display the award emblem for five years.

Graham said, “Winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise is a real honour. It shows that you are a leader in your area and it can really benefit the local economy. I urge businesses in East Yorkshire to consider applying, so we can showcase some of the great companies we have in our area.”

The closing date for the 2013 awards is 28th September 2012. For more information, please visit www.queensawards.org.uk or call 020 7215 6880.
