As part of his long- running campaign for better broadband in East Yorkshire, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, has written to Parish Councils across the constituency urging them to engage with the roll-out of superfast broadband services across the county.

Graham said, “East Riding of Yorkshire Council is working to assess and stimulate the demand for superfast broadband across the county and it is essential that our local Councils engage with this process to ensure that they are on the Broadband map.

“The Government has allocated £5.4million to East Riding of Yorkshire Council to improve broadband services and Parish Councils can help by providing local information to the Council via their broadband website.  The information gathered from this site will be used to promote the East Riding as an attractive proposition for potential suppliers and to determine the priority areas for improved broadband services to be rolled out.

“Rural residents are geographically more isolated from services. This is why it has to be a priority that they are able to access online services.”

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Broadband survey is for both residents and businesses to register their demand for broadband services.  Please go to http://broadband.eastriding.gov.uk/ to participate in the survey.
