Save Withernsea Bus Depot

Following the fire on Bannister Street, there have been reports that East Yorkshire Buses may relocate its operations to Hull.

Thirty people are employed at the depot, and the impact of the closure of the depot would affect far more, with a best case scenario being that drivers would have to travel to Hull to continue in their jobs. Support staff would also be affected by any closure of the Bannister Street site.

That's why I'm working with Cllr Lyn Healing to keep the bus depot open.

I know that people in Withernsea don't want to lose jobs to Hull, and want to keep this depot open.

When I learned of people’s disquiet about the potential closure of the Withernsea Bus Depot, it was clear immediate action was required if we, as a community, were to have the chance to save it, and the thirty jobs.
