Tough on Crime

Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart recently met Holderness Farm Watch members along with Humberside Police’s newly formed Rural Task Force at Lelley Barns to congratulate them on the progress they have both made in tackling rural crime. This event was the first time that members of the rural community group were able to share their concerns with the unit in person since its formation in February.

Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, is holding meetings across Holderness this Friday in order to address local residents’ concerns about rural crime and traffic issues.

Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, is seeking a meeting with the Rural Crime Minister as well as local farmers to highlight the problem of rural crime, which has seen a recent increase in several areas across the UK.

On Tuesday 16 October Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart hosted an event in Parliament to highlight illegal hare coursing and its effects on rural communities in East Yorkshire and across the whole of the UK. 

In March this year, in Holderness, Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart launched the CLA (Country Land and Business Association) national campaign to combat hare-coursing and ultimately put an end to this crime.

Local MP Graham Stuart has pledged more action to tackle hare coursing in rural areas of Beverley and Holderness after it was revealed that Humberside Police spent 1200 hours combatting the crime in the past year.
