Graham has written to the Secretary of State for Transport, Rt Hon Philip Hammond, calling for a proposed rise in the Humber Bridge tolls to be delayed until after a Treasury-led enquiry into their impact has been completed. His letter read: “I wish to express my very strong objection to the proposal to raise the Humber Bridge [...] Beverley and Holderness MP, Graham Stuart, pressed the case for the Beverley Southern Relief Road at a meeting with the Secretary of State for Transport, Philip Hammond. The meeting came just weeks after the Minister announced the scheme would be allowed to go forward and bid for a slice of £600 million earmarked for transport schemes [...] Work was due to start this week repairing and improving Owthorne Walk in Withernsea after a 20 year battle by residents for improvements. The street suffered from poor road surface and muddy verges due to lack of proper parking for homeowners. |
