Beverley and Holderness is not just somewhere people live.
It is farmland, coastline, market towns, villages, churches, hedgerows, open skies and communities where people know their neighbours.
That does not mean nothing should ever change. But change has to fit the place.
New homes should come with proper roads, drainage and services.
Energy projects should not swallow up good farmland or leave villages feeling surrounded.
Flood protection and coastal support should match the risks local people actually face.
And when major decisions are made, the people who live with the consequences should be heard before it is too late.
Graham’s view is clear: East Yorkshire should grow in a way that strengthens local communities, not weakens what makes them worth protecting.
